EDG3 Design Two

This is my second website template I am releasing under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5

This template would be great as a business or personal site due to its sleek design and layout, it is infact the design that I created for myself and can be seen live an in action in my archive, however now the time has come for me to release it so you are free to use this design for whatever purpose you wish as long as you do NOT sell it or claim it as your own and you leave the link back to my site at the bottom of your pages.

So what you waiting for? Go see it in action or download it now!

I just downloaded this template, and I noticed that the top bar (header), and the bottom (footer) are all grey, and the main content had lost its shadow. All the images are in the same folder as “index.html”, but it still isn’t working.

Please consider downloading the template and seeing what had happens when you open “index.html” with all accompanying files in the same folder. Is it a bug or something missed out in the download ZIP?

If you are available to supply the fixing procedure, please do. Thank you.

It’s working fine here.. when you use it, make sure the images stay inside the ‘img’ folder.

So the structure looks like this:

    -

    design_two

    > index.html

    > stylesheet.css

    > img > content.jpg

    > img > footer.jpg

    > img > logo.jpg

    > img > navigation.jpg

    > img > valid-508.jpg

    > img > valid-css.jpg

    > img > valid-xhtml.jpg

    -

That will then work perfectly, make sure the images are inside the “img” folder and not in the same one as the index.html / stylesheet.css files. Hope that helps you!

As this and other are template especially for personal site like blog, what about making them themes for some blogger-platform like Wordpress or Blogger? :)
    See ya!

Hey Marco, it’s just some random filler text saying it would be good as a blog or personal site - couldn’t think what else to write so it just stuck to all my templates :P
Although I have been asked many times to convert a few into WordPress themes, so I will when I get time :)
    Ciao

Very nice! I like the color and shadow parts.

Chris, I’ve got the same problem as “Far, far away…”
When I’m opening the web locally everything is OK. Having it uploaded onto a server I’m missing some of css settings. Particularly those above.
I’m keeping the stuff in its folders but it still doesn’t work.
Probably I’m wrong with something. Please advise.

Hey Wille, sorry for the slightly delayed replyed. Just checked out your site and it looks like things are working for you now :)

    Many 10X, Chris

It’s an interesting issue, though. This page opens correctly from the webserver only in IE. Firefox and Opera won’t apply the images in the child-directory. My own feeling is like a CSS misinterpretation, or maybe a hosting bug? I’ll play around to check this.
    Thanks again, very stylish work!

Hi, I’m trying to download some of the templates, but a “500 Internal Server Error”, appears when I click the “download it” link

  11. christopher February 22, 2007 1:05 pm

Hi Coré, I’m currently reworking the backend / cleaning up folder structure which is causing many links and pages to break. Sorry!

For now this templates is available here - http://www.edg3.co.uk/portfolio/smooth-and-sleek/ - with preview and download links direct from Open Designs :)
If there are any other templates which you would like to download, but the links are broken, feel free to email me and I will send them over that way for now.

    Thanks.
